“Monitoring and Early Warning Platform of Cyanobacterial bloom and Black Water of Taihu Lake” unveiled at 2019 International Conference of New Technology of Eco-Environment
On October 11th to 12th, 2019, the "2019 International Conference of New Technology of Eco-Environment " jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Ecology Environment and the People's Government of Jiangsu Province started at the Nanjing International Expo Center. Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment- Guotai Zhuang and Vice Governor of the People's Government of Jiangsu Province - Yuanqiang Guo attended the meeting and delivered speeches. With the theme of “Collecting Global Technology and Serving the Modernization of Environment Governance”, the conference focused on key areas such as the Yangtze River protection and pollution prevention and control,the meeting screened a series of environmental and technological achievements based on scientific research projects of water special and held a live exhibition of “The Presentation of Ecological and Technological Achievements of Promoting the Protection and Reconstruction of Yangtze River ” down the Yangtze River.
The “Monitoring and Early Warning Platform of Cyanobacterial bloom and Black Water of Taihu Lake” developed by the Lake Ecosystem Dynamics Team led by the researcher Boqiang Qin was invited to participate in the exhibition. In the form of sandbox, video and live demonstration, the researchers introduced the research results of the monitoring and early warning of Taihu Lake water environment and the promotion and application of this achievement in important lakes such as Qiandao Lake, and displayed the architectural ideas, functions, services, and operational operations of monitoring and early warning platform.
Facing to the feature of sudden and strong cyanobacteria blooms and algae-producing in Taihu Lake. “Monitoring and Early Warning Platform of Cyanobacterial bloom and Black Water of Taihu Lake” aims to solve the timeliness, accuracy and automation of Taihu Lake water environment forecast. The platform is based on the integrated monitoring technology of the celestial and cyanobacteria blooms of Taihu Lake and the water environment dynamics model (DYTHE) of Taihu Lake. Its main function is to receive the monitoring information of cyanobacteria blooms in real time. Through the rapid and accurate automatic processing and numerical simulation of the data, the occurrence and development of cyanobacteria blooms and black water in the next seven days will be predicted, thereby realizing the accurate simulation of cyanobacteria bloom and black water and operational running of 7-day forecasting.
The exhibition area is about 3,000 square meters. A total of 49 technical support units have launched hundreds of environmental science and technology achievements on the spot. More than 20,000 representatives from Eco-environment management departments, industrial parks, universities, research institutes and enterprises from 31 provinces (cities) attended the conference.
