Nanjing Institute of Geography and Limnology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (NIGLAS), also known as the former Chinese Institute of Geography founded in Beibei District, Chongqing City in August 1940, is a national unique comprehensive research institute focusing on lake-watershed ecosystems. Huang Bingwei, Ren Mei'e, and Zhou Lisan, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, served as the former leaders in NIGLAS.
