Teaching Practice in Taihu Lake Station of China-Danish Teaching and Research Team of Research and Education Center
In order to better study and consolidate professional theoretical knowledge and improve students' practical application ability, from June 1st to 5th, 19 students from the Danish Research and Education Center once again came to Taihu station for teaching practice under the guide of Professor Eric Jeppeson from Aarhus University in Denmark and researcher Zhengwen Liu from Nanjing Institute of Geography and Limnology, CAS.
From June 2nd to 3rd, under the leadership of kuanyi Li, deputy director of Taihu station, researcher Zhengwen Liu, researcher Feizhou Chen and associate professor Xiaoli Shi, the students respectively collected samples from ecological restoration demonstration zone of Gonghu Bayand, fishing returning zone of Wuli Lake and Meiliang Bay. On the afternoon of June 4th, students took No.1 Science Exploitation ship to Taihu Lake for a field trip. Under the direction of the teachers, the students were divided into five groups for sample processing analysis, completed the internship report and conducted group report on the morning of June 5th.
During the period, the teachers prepared wonderful reports for the students. Researcher Feizhou Chen introduced the "The restoration of Wuli Bay" to the students; Xiaoli Shi explained the "Cyanobacteria bloom and the control strategies in Lake Chaohu", You Zhang introduced the work of "Nutrient enrichment homogenizes taxonomic and functional diversity of benthic macro invertebrate assemblages in shallow lakes".
During the teaching practice, the students of China-Danish Center listened carefully to the report, actively performed experiment, they enriched the professional knowledge, enhanced practical experience, broadened the horizons, activated the thoughts, and understood the hardships of field work and recognized the significance of research work in the wild. Finally, the teachers at the China-Danish Center expressed their gratitude for the warm reception at Taihu Station.
