Africa-assistance project of the Ministry of Science: Training class of resources and ecological protection of Tanganyika Lake in Africa

In November 2007, the Ministry of Science and Technology and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) initialed a memorandum of cooperation, and both of the parties confirmed to provide African countries with capacity-building and technical support in the environment-related field. In 2008, commissioned by the Department of International Cooperation, the Ministry of Science, our institute assumes the work of community-based natural resource management - “training class of resources and ecological protection of Tanganyika Lake in Africa”. This project mainly includes joint inspection on resources and ecological conditions of Tanganyika Lake, on-site training for local professionals, convening working meeting, preparation of report on resources and ecological conditions of Tanganyika Lake in collaboration with local experts, etc. Currently, the project is on the way, and in February 2009, the first field study was completed.
