Sino-German research team of climate changes, droughts and floods (Climate Change, Floods and Droughts – Sino-German Cooperation Group) is funded by the Sino-German Center of the Foundation Commission. The research team was joint set up by Jiang Tong, a research fellow of our institute, as well as Professor King from the International Development and Environmental Research Center of the University of Giessen, Germany, with funding for 285,000 euros, and it was launched on June 18, 2007. Since its inception, the research team has carried out fruitful work, respectively held two rounds of international symposium on large rivers in 2007 and 2008, and has organized two rounds of Sino-German expert symposiums on water science projects. Both the two parties have respectively carried out cooperation and exchange visits for their scholars for about 20 times. At present, both the Sino-German cooperation project on climate change adaptation and the climate insurance program applied by the team have been basically implemented; and at the same time, academic papers of the first phase members of the team will be published on the magazine - Quarternary International, and they are currently under review.
