Presentation Introduction:
Spatial statistics are modifications, extensions, and additions to classical statistical techniques by explicitly considering the importance of locations or spatial arrangement of data. As a rapidly developing area of statistics, it has seen enormous growing interest and applications in a broad range of research fields, including remote sensing. This talk will first give an overview and introduction of spatial statistics. It will then present some spatial statistical theory for analyzing remotely sensed data. Finally, some examples will be used to illustrate the spatial statistical methodologies for remote sensing.
