In the afternoon of November 2nd, 2009, the employment ceremony was held in our institute for three visiting scientists from National Institute for Environmental Studies of Denmark (University of Aarhus), Erik Jeppesen、Martin Søndergaar and Brian Kronvang. Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy Director and researcher Shen Ji awarded them certificates.
After the ceremony, Professor Erik Jeppesen and Doctor Martin Søndergaard introduced the research foundation on aspects such as lakes and river basins of National Institute for Environmental Studies of Denmark, expressing the interest on cooperation on lakes and river basins and cultivation of talents as well as analyzing the cooperation potential of two parties. The employment of three scholars as the visiting scientists will help to improve the scientific research level and talents cultivation level of our institute.
Professor Erik Jeppesen is internationally known limnologist, having great attainments in remediation of lakes and close cooperation relation with our institute. Doctor Martin Søndergaard is internationally known experts on Endogenous load of shallow water lakes and remediation of lakes. Professor Brian Kronvang, the expert of Hydrologic simulation, watershed ecology and the interaction between sediment and water in international river basins, is the chair person of International Water-Sediment Science Association.
