On June 7, the demonstration on the implementation plan of the competitive project "Research and Analysis of Water and Heat Fluxes of Poyang Lake and the Impact of Environmental Factors" of the Water Resources Department of Jiangxi province was held in Nanchang, Jiangxi. The former deputy governor of Jiangxi province, Professor Hu Zhenpeng, professor of Hohai University Rui Xiaofang, the deputy inspector of the Water Resources Department of Jiangxi province Tan Guoliang, the head of International Cooperation and Technology Division Guo Zejie, director of the Science and Technology Division Peng Dongshui, head of the Hydrological Bureau of Jiangxi province Zhu Shugui, head of the Science and Technology Division Wang Qinzhao, head of Water Resources Division Li Mei, the project supervisor and member of our institute Researcher Liu Yuanbo, members of the project group and relevant management personnel of the Science and Technology Division attended this meeting.
At the meeting, Researcher Liu Yuanbo and division head Li Mei firstly introduced the background, purpose, meaning and main researching contents of the project and reported the researching thought, technical route and the current main on-going researching works in detail. Later, together with specialists attending the meeting, they argued and commended the implementation plan of the project respectively. The specialists all believed that the project had followed the programme requirements of the Water Resources Department. The researching purpose met the actual requirements of Poyang Lake; the researching contents were substantial; the researching thought is clear and the researching route was practical. The specialists hoped to promote the comprehensive researching level of the water and heat flux of Poyang Lake and cultivated a group of scientific and technology talents with high qualities through implementing this project. In the end, Researcher Liu Yuanbo expressed his gratitude to the Water Resources Department of Jiangxi Province for supporting the project and promised to finish the project with high qualities and quantities according to the contract and give them a satisfying result.
Researcher Liu Yuanbo has been studied hydrological resources and worked on quantitative remote sensing research for a long time. He performs an in-deep research on difficult scientific problems such as earth evapotranspiration calculation model, scale transformation of earth surface and the uncertainty of inversion algorithm based on remote sensing. “Research and Analysis of Water and Heat Flux of Poyang Lake and the Impact of Environmental Factors” is carried out to solve the problem that the evaporation of the surface of Poyang Lake cannot be observed accurately. It intends to study the spatial changes and the effecting factors of the wetland evapotranspiration of Poyang Lake by applying relevant systems of vorticity and using the quantitative remote sensing method. The successful implementation of the project will supply foundations for solving the hydrological problems of Poyang Lake under changes of the climate and environment.
